Last weekend we decided to go to Firefly Hollow Brewing Co. It was a Sunday and we were feeling pretty bored. Firefly is a pretty cool place and we are excited to go back. Coming from Utah I hadn’t really seen anything like it before. First off it is in an old factory and we had to drive around the block a couple of times before realizing that the big old rundown building in the middle of the block was in fact the brewery. In Salt Lake a brewery doubles as a brew pub and you order some food while you sample beers. Here it is BYOF; Bring Your Own Food. They have a bar that you can sit at and if you walk further into the room there are all sorts of tables and chairs. You try some beer and just chill out. There were people who had brought their own lunches and some were playing games. Overall a pretty cool place.
Below is the street sign from the front. On the left is the walkway up to the front door and below that is the back of the building from the parking lot. Pretty cool right?
Here is our beer tasting. We tried the Ramshackle Golden Mild, Toadstool Old Stout, Red Lantern, Photon Imperial Crimson, and the Lizard Breath IPA. I know those names don’t really mean a whole lot but you can sort of guess. I really liked the golden mild and Man really liked the IPA. I thought that the stout was similar to what a sweet Guinness might taste like.
Here is me drinking a pint of the IPA, attractive I know. Below are what their glasses and coasters look like. I think they are pretty damn cool and while I snagged a coaster eventually we will get some glasses and a growler as well.
Check out their website here: http://fireflyhollowbrewing.com/ and you can learn about their beers!
